Soup FAQ’s

Expiration dates vary depending on the date the package was mixed. Generally, if stored in a cool, dry pantry they will last approximately one year. Keep in mind that shelf life is reduced if the package has been opened or stored incorrectly (warm, moist area). Warm, moist areas will damage the ingredients!
Each of our soups has been carefully developed with just the right quantity of herbs and spices ensuring flavor perfection. Splitting the ingredients into multiple batches will spoil this balance. It is best to make the entire pouch and refrigerate or freeze leftovers.
It is best for quality and food safety practices to plan on eating the cooked soup soon after cooking. Should you need to store leftovers, they will keep for approximately 3 to 4 days in a refrigerator. Avoid letting soup sit at room temperature for more than 2 hours. Do not place a pot of hot soup directly into the refrigerator. Transfer the cooked soup from the pot to food safe containers for refrigeration or freezing.
While each recipe has its own unique flavor, you can use the mixes and let your kitchen creativity “run wild”. You can use them as a base for stews or pasta. You can add fresh or canned vegetables and/or meats. Check out our “Soup Serving Ideas” link with a photo gallery full of serving ideas.
Allergens vary depending on the person and while the recipes (except for Barley Delight) do not contain dairy, oil, sugar, nuts or wheat, it is inappropriate to make claims unless our facility was certified by a third party. Check the ingredients of each recipe carefully before consuming.
Canned soups generally contain preservatives or high amounts of sodium to maintain shelf life. Any of our varieties that may contain salt are mixed with only ONE tablespoon of salt in the entire pouch and no preservatives are used in our soups.
